Preliminary Task

  This short film was created by Georgia Brown and Amelia Marshall. We did this as a preliminary task to introduce us to the equipment and editing software, it also gave us a first experience to produce our own visual film.
  The skills we have learnt doing this preliminary task will allow us to be more experienced and confident when using the cameras and i-movie when producing our coursework.
  We chose this narrative for this task in order to attempt both fast and slow paced editing as we have involved a contrast in the mood which enabled us to switch from the dramatic running shots to the more mellow scene in the classroom.

When filming and planning this task, we have developed the key skill of storyboarding. We will need to apply this skill to our final coursework when we storyboard our opening. Our actual film did not completely follow the storyboard as we were too vague however after encountering this issue we will make sure we are detailed with our next stroyboard and stick to it. We were also able to experiment with camera angles when filming which helped us to gain knowledge of what works and what angles and shots are easiest and hardest to achieve.
